In july, I got an eye infection cause I slept with contacts lenses for about six months with out taking them off, I was diagnosed with having either chicken pox in the eye or herpes in the eye, they werent sure, the docs priscribe valtrex and eye drops, my eye cleared and conrea was perfect. I just did a blood work and hsv 1 was negative >500 and my hsv  2 was positive 1.11, doc used the iGg test, he told me not to worry and want to retest in 3 weeks time. Can me taking the valtrex for my eye infection triggers my low positive results, am confuse cause doc is not explain anything. My partner for three years now, got tested for hsv 1 and hsv2 and both results came back negative. i never had any symptoms or anything, Can anyone explain to help me pit plz

also, if your next test is a low positive, you may want to retest with a different test like the biokit or Western Blot test... Grace or someone will probably follow up if you have more questions

yes valtrex could produce a lower result if you were taking it and HAVE herpes....I'm going to assume you don't have it and need to retest.  It is an extremely low positive...in fact its only .01 over what it takes to be positive...i've seen a lot of low positives come back as FALSE positives...try not to worry and retest
