Testing in NYC?

Hello,

A few months ago i tested positive for HSV 2 with a 2.0 result with HerpeSelect. I was interested in going to a new doctor to be retested. Does anyone recommended a good doctor in new york city? And should I be tested with a different kind of test?

Thanks.

hes really good hes a herpes/std/scientist/specialists (hes been doing it for a long time w many titles) i felt that way 2 but i guess i had to think about it like could b worse like cancer or hiv and i just thank God there is nothing below lol yeah there are like 20 cases on here i found but its rare but i seem to be finding it happens more often than usual. i dont know y focus tecnologies doesent make people aware of how innaccurate the test is, the risks/and re testing, there are even at least 5 diseases other than herpes that can make low false positives(even bio kit told focus to use their test as conformaiton for results under 3.5 but do they no and they dont even make people aware urgh i wish everyone(md's,fda, focus, planned parenthood etc...) change their testing practices of the disease because maybe thas y is spreading so much its under diagnosed) then to make it even crazier i never had a std in my life and because of my case w no symptoms planned parenthood is saying now they dontdo serology tests unless u have symptoms that makes sense not!  its really like a little over 75% accurate from research journal articles i was reading and when used w conformation testing (like the bio kit rapid assay or the western blot) accuracy goes up to 85% or more. in another artice on accuracy between tests it had a scary number of 126 people testing positive w the focus test but when using conformation test only 26 were positive tha is disturbing to me. also the fact tha most  doctors dont know which test to use to make a diagnosis w/ in the short igm window time frame( the igm dissapears w/in a month or so depending on immunnity) how can they test/diagnose people if they dont fully understand the disease like my doctor lmfao (i even gave plnned parenthood all my statistics/info/research and they jus ignored me go figure) even though we are rare cases retesting should always be done and not w the same test that gave a positive result.

I really appreciate the response, Maya. Dr. Gilbert's name came up earlier today when i was researching, so that must be a good route to take. I've been a little lost the past two months. I was shocked to get that result and i don't seem to have any symptoms, although now i go crazy if i think i even have an itch! I'm amazed how doctors seem to be in limbo with herpes, meaning they don't seem to be totally in the loop with what results mean, how accurate tests are, etc. My test results were positive at 2.0, but the first thing the doctor said was, "who knows if these tests are even accurate." I wonder if anyone has ever had a 2.0 that ended up being negative?

at the montifore medical center in bronx (dr gilbert) its $10 for the bio kit rapid assay and $30 for th offive visit (i have the same problem my results was 1.79 over four months ago and still no symptoms. i have to go there as well for the test because no one in michigan does conformation testing which is weired i spewed about it in my blog very irritating lmfao) the herpes select test by focus has "issues" w false positives with scores under 3,5 some were even saying 3.0. any more questions let me know im pre med but infectious diseases was not my major especially not herpes lmfao (its immunohematology)
