igG test results for HSV 1

I just received my test results for HSV; 1.21. I was negative for HSV II. I have never exhibited any sores either orally or on the genitals.

Per the form accompanying the results, this indicated a positive finding. However, in researching the issue, it seems the low range would indicate a false-positive is likely. I'll see a physician tomorrow and be retested, but what is the likelihood I am actually negative for HSV I?

Thanks!!

there doesn't seem to be as many false positive issues with the hsv1 testing as with hsv2. totally up to you if you think it's worthwhile to follow up with a herpes WB to confirm your hsv1 results or not.

do you have a regular partner?

No- it was 1.21 for the HSV 1 only. I didn't receive a combined score. The HSV II test was <.91.

Thanks!

is that hsv1 .21 as a result or a combined hsv result of 1.21?
