Herpes in mouth?

I know it is possible to get herpes in the mouth, so I was wondering...how likely is it to get it in the mouth without getting it on the lips first? See, right now, I have a small red area near the edge on one of my teeth on the gums. I do get canker sores but it does not look like one of those. I do not get herpes on my mouth either, and I was tested for it back in May which was negative. Also, it is not a bump or filled with pus or anything. It does bleed when I brush though and only hurts too when I brush or . My fear is that it was there earlier this year in the summer time in the same location and now, it looks like there is the same thing on the gumline near the tooth behind this one. Not sure what it could be, but obviously I am freaking out and just wanted to see if anyone can give me opinions on what it could be, thanks.

I was thinking that too. I have been looking at pics and everything, and nothing seems to look exactly what I have. Plus, from what I read as well, it would be painful and located in multiple areas of the mouth rather than one little spot.

it would be unusual to have just one single small area as your initial symptom and as your recurrences. follow up on this with your doctor or dentist for better evaluation as to what is going on.
