this is not a risk for you.
does your man have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally?
is he on daily suppressive therapy?
have you ever been tested to know your own herpes status?
hsv2. and I don't believe he's on meds. I haven't been tested specifically. This is sort of a new situation for me. I have tested negative for any others in the past. I'm just nervous that neither of us was thinking about that being a risk factor.
Where you tested for HSV directly though? It is not usually a part of most routine STD panels. If not it wouldn't hurt to be tested now.
There was no risk as grace said from the encounter.
Him getting on daily supressive therapy and avoiding sex during times where genitial symptoms are occuring will give you a 96% chance per year to NOT getting herpes.
we'll talk about the suppressive therapy. how effective are condoms in the meantime if there are no symptoms?
this is a terrific resource for you and your partner both :) It's free and written by Terri Warren, our herpes expert here on medhelp.
