Tongue issues

Okay...so I tested postive for HSV-1 a year ago...I find it hard to believe that HSV-1 is so common and usually doesn't bother most people. Well, not for me. I never get coldsores, yet, my tongue is always a mess...yellow like lesions are all over the places..(the strands surround my tastebuds)  (See photo below)...they're not painful, but are not appealing to look at, clearly....but yea, they never go away, so how can this be just HSV-1

My question is....

What should I be doing..... Valtrex did not keep away this problem; however, I was only on it for 3 weeks before decieding that I was sick of hiding these huge blue pills all of my aparment to keep away from my room mates.

So yea, any suggestions would be great....and no regular toothpaste does nothing for me

Thank you,
Grant

Thanks for your inputs...sorry about the pic...Don't you think my Doctor should have ran test for everything when I came to her with the intial problem? I mean...I first had a swab, and then blood drawn.

this is not all hsv1 orally. You need to follow up with your provider to get a proper diagnosis. You might also want to google geographic tongue.

i would try some anti bacterial oral care like a mouth wash/toothpaste like listerine etc.. i also saw orajel has new cold sore like band aids for the mouth it helps heals, sooth etc...i would also keep taking the valtrex or avliclair (sp for some valtrex didnt work but this did i dunno i guess it depends on immunity-technically it is the first medication fda approved and has more advantages than valtrex if tha makes sense)im not to familular w hsv 1 since i never had a cold sore(not even hsv2) but i hope tha helps i would also go and see a throat specialists who has an infectious disease as a mionor/background
