Unusual and Persistant Herpes Outbreak, Plz Help

RFV
Hello, I have Herpes 1 and suffer the occasional cold sore and occassionally get the target lesions on my hands, feet, elbows and knees only.  They are pretty bad though.  I am in the midst of an outbreak that really has me baffled.  It began with a cold sore that would not go away.  At the end of the second week with this cold sore I broke out in the target lesions on my fingers that rapidly spread throughout my hands, then feet, knees & elbows. I took a total of 4 grams of Valtrex in 24 hours and it did not stop the lesions from blistering, itching and spreading.

The lesions are now beginning to recede although many remain itchy and blistering.  But, now I have several small sores on my lips, gums, tongue and the sides of my mouth.  They are white but do not look like canker sores.  They look more like patches of dead skin.  But they hurt like hell!  I cannot eat or brush my teeth.  What should I do?  Would baking soda help?  Any info would be appreciated.  How can I get rid of these sores in my mouth??

I don't think these are just plain ole cold sores going on. You need to go and be seen.

Thank you for your comments and I apologize for the pic.  I must have overlooked the photo restriction rule.

I think you may have misread my post.  I have target lesions only on my hands, feet, elbows and feet.  These happened once before in a previous Herpes outbreak.  The sores in my mouth, however, are different.  It could just be because they are in my mouth that they appear different, but the cold sores on my lips and in my mouth are very persistant.  I am on week 3 of the cold sore on my lip and about 5 days into the ones in my mouth.  I have taken Valtrex and have used nearly an entire tube of Denavir on my lips.  What is a common plan B for treating persistant cold sores once Valtrex and Denavir do not produce the desired results?  Thanks for all of your help.

If you read our "please read before posting" post at the top of this forum you'll see that we don't allow any pictures to be posted regardless of the body part.  Thank you for your future cooperation with this.

I have no idea what you mean by target lesions on other body parts. Whatever they are, they aren't caused by hsv1.

You need to go and be seen today or tomorrow and get all of this looked at. You have a lot going on at one time and I think they aren't exactly related.
