actually the answer is more accurately - sometimes it can.
if you started suppressive therapy soon after being infected, it can delay seroconversion. you started it a few months into things so it wouldn't have affected your test results.
at this point you have several posts going on. we can help you best if you just keep it all in 1 post - thanks!

After I posted this I talked to the hospital doc about my negativ test result. She didnt think Valtrex had interferred with the results. I have had "herpes symptoms" four months, taking Valtrex last four weeks.
Maybe I could have a new test taken in a couple of weeks when my system is clear of Valtrex? Just to be on the safe side?
Just no it is all too confusing. One doc says: HERPES! The other says: no this is not herpes. Both are qualified gyno´s in their fifties with lot of experience.
What else can cause blisters that recur in the same place and that have prodromes?
Yes. If you are taking antiviral medicines, such as acyclovir, famciclovir, ganciclovir, or valacyclovir (Valtrex) if can interfere with Herpes testing. This is primarily true in recent infections. The use of those medications can extend (but not prevent) seroconversion (the amount of time it takes your body to develop antibodies).
