Valtrex dosage optimized
My Dr. wrote a prescription for 1gm daily pill of Valtrex. I already have stomach problems and am trying to minimize potential side effects with highest drug efficacy. Seems logical to take 2 pills at 500mg/pill instead.
Would this reduce stomach upset and/or improve absorption of drug? Thx in advance.

Well not really - they aren't scored for breaking but a pill cutter will do it for you pretty easily. You can buy them at drugstores.

so you've never had a cold sore or any genital symptoms of herpes and are only + on the blood test then?
You can break your valtrex in half and take 500mg 2x/day if you prefer. Makes little difference whether you take it all at one dose or divide it into 2 doses so do which one you feel most comfortable with.
