Very unsure

Yesterday I used a dildo with a woman who I know is HSV 1 and 2 positive.  There was penetration with the dildo and well as rubbing outside the vaginal area  Without thinking shortly after my hands were in contact with the part of the dildo that was inside her and rubbing her.. Then I used that same hand and masturbated.  What is my exposure here?

Thank you...

Well, I suppose there could be a very small chance that while using the sex toy in her vagina, you could have gotten virus on the toy, you could have immediately grabbed it, and then immediately used the grabbing hand to touch your penis for masturbation.  All of those things coming together in just the right order at the just the right place and enough virus surviving to be able to infect someone seems extremely unlikely to me.

I've read the info on the site throughly.  My concern is if there is a possible risk in what I've described, how is it possible?

Thanks again for the help

I think the chances of your acquiring herpes in this way is extremely low.  I would just observe your penis for 2-10 days and if you see anything concerning, get it checked out.  But transmission from an inanimate object to your hand, then your hand to your penis, is a real stretch.
