Was it impetigo or herpes?

A few months ago at the end of August I woke up to yellow crust on my lower lip.I had assumed it was chapped lips. The next night it was all over my lower lip and and was oozing.Went to the doctor where he Said it was impetigo but got tested for herpes just in case. Took my antibiotics and it went away but came back the day I finished my antibiotics. At this point I started feeling a tingling and oozing feeling. Went to ER and was told it was herpes but gave me antibiotics because I said that I was diagnosed with impetigo. It went away weeks later but kept having the tingling and oozing feeling. Went to doctor about 2 months later and he said that I came back positive for hsv1. Prescribed me acyclovir. Have been taking it for about 3 weeks now and am still feeling tingling and oozing affects. But now I have bumps on the surface of both my hands. Could I have transmitted it to my hands?? P.s. my hands were very dry before due to my work.

Having whitlow on both hands is not going to happen. I would find out what test they gave you and the numeric value of the test. Meaning wss it an igg or igm bloodtest and what exactly was the elevated number.

This doctor literally told me that I was positive for hsv1 as if it was just the flu. and then just prescribed me acyclovir. I asked if he could talk me there what to expect from the medication and he just said it'll clear the herpes up. That was it. Like if it was nothing important and nothing to worry about.
I'm in the process of getting a different insurance to get a more professional doctor.
I'll definitely will have to ask what test they gave me. The bumps on the right hand have basically cleared up in a day and the ones on the left are still there and itchy. I'm acyclovir right now and have been for 3 weeks. Can I  still get a breakout will taking the medication

Have the bumps on your hand tested for HSV.

No not yet. I just made the appointment yesterday. But I can't be seen for another 3 weeks. The bumps are just itchy. No fluid have presented itself.

Impetigo is a highly contagious skin infection where sores are on the lip area. Herpes is an infection that lives in the nerve area and can surface from time to time. Over 50% of the adult population has hsv1. Most get it as a child.
I highly doubt you spread it to your hands. Whitlow which is herpes of tbe hand ir finger is almost always extremely painful. It's also rare.

Do you think I could be miss diagnosed? I went to the doctor again and told him that I still feel the ooze sensation more than the tingling. And asked to be retested for the hsv1. But he said not for another 3 months. Made another appointment for the bumps on my hands. They're small and itchy but not bad. I had just assumed that they we're from overwashing my hands. That made them very dry even with lotion. I'm just nervous because I have a 6 month old and I've been limiting my holding her because of it. The diagnosis has made everything so difficult.

A little of my life history. I have only been sexual active with 3 men my whole life. And have been with my last bf for 3 years. Have never had a cold sore or anything to think I had a cold sore.
