Western Blot

Terri,

Will I get my WB results this week?  My gf tested last week negative again at 15 weeks.  It was herpselect vs elisa.  Not sure which is better.  She had been doing ELISA.

My issues continue.  Urology says he's not sure what is wrong.  Derm dr says he is confused as well.  Since stopping famvir last week I'm worse with pain and redness on penis.  The opening is irritated often and I'm having clear discharge.

These symptoms are the same as the past 4 months.  I think the WB results will reduce my stress.

There is no correlation between your HSV ELISA values and your current concerns.
HSV 1 can cause new HSV 2 to be more subdued, yes, but I still don't think this is the case with your situation.
Good that your partner is negative at 17 weeks.  That suggests that if you have HSV 2 it is from another source, not her.
I don't know when you will get your western blot results back.  It normally take 1-3 weeks.

Clear fluid on the skin without a lesion is not herpes if that is what you are asking me.  Perhaps it is perspiration?  Neither does herpes cause pain when push on an area near the belly button.  I would suggest that you stop pushing on yourself there.  If you have pain there without any pushing, then you may wish to consult with a GI doc.

Honestly, I don't think I can help you any more with these issues.  Please continue with your counseling and move on with your life as best you can.

Terri I have started counseling.  You are right and thank you for the suggestion.

That said today after sex I had a red area on the rim on the top side of my penis and it had a watery fluid on it.  It was when my penis was still somewhat erect right after sex.  I wiped it dry and a minute later it was wet again.  I dried it and went to the dr and by then my penis had gone down and it was gone.  He thought maybe abrasion from sex.  All day it has hurt.  Occasionally it has a small amount of clear fluid.  But no open sore?
This is the same location I had my initial pain and burning in early July.  It has also been a area that I've noticed the most since July and i have noticed clear fluid there before but it was so minimal abd it was gone quick.  If its worse tomorrow I'm gonna ask for a swab.

I have pain in my area right below my belly button when I push on it.  Feels like a sharp stabbing pain when I push in with my fingers.

I'm not taking famvir.

Its time you start to believe these results.  I can't think that at 6 months it will be any different.  You really need some psychological help with this, I feel.

Yes.

Negative type 2
Positive type 1

Still in pain.  I'm fearful my use of famvir off and on during this 14 week time frame before WB made it inaccurate.

My 4 month IgG was type 2 - .10, type 1- 4.78

I'm still suffering from the same pains.  Actually feel it getting worse even though I was elated to get my negative WB.  She's negative at 17 weeks.  I'm negative WB at 14 and IgG at 16.  My dr says 6 months.  Great I will wait.  I'm going to PT for stretches in my pelvic region in case I have PPS.  Ugh

I'm wondering if the fact I have hsv 1 could that have lessened my OBs of HSV 2 making them mild in terms of sores and also possibly affected my antibodies from starting to go up for type 2?
My type 1 antibodies jumped from a range of 1.2 to 2.2 for 4 years to 4.7 in July when this occurred.  They stay that high still.  Is there a correlation?

She's negative at 15 weeks but also has type 1.  Just curious.
