I believe most insurers will deflect you to an IgG test and not support a Westernblot. Try it, but I suspect it will be out of pocket.
If I have my doctor orders the western blot, will my insurance cover it or will it be $250. Also, if I use the western heights place can they have my insurance cover it?
Oh ok. I didn't know that thank you.
Any doctor can order it. It is a good idea to download a few pages on how to order it though and take it to your doctor.
I have been celibate for over a year. Is there a way my doctor can do a western blot? Or do I have to go through the school I've seen people talk about?
Normal IgG tests look for a single antibody using a single antigen (gG). The WB is essentially the entire virus antigen signature attracting all blood borne antibodies.
If it has been a couple of months, then yes get an IgG quickly in case you've gone negative. Otherwise the WB should sort your status out now.
