What does this mean?

I just got my results not too long ago. Does this say that I have herpes?
Here are those results:

HSV 1/2 Comb Ab lgG
Interpretive Information HSV 1/2 Combined Ab Screen lgG
0.89 IV or less........Not Detected
0.90-1.09 IV..........Interminate- Repeat testing
in 10- 14 days may be helpful
1.10 IV or Greater........Detected

Does this mean I have it because I don't know what detected means or is trying to imply.

Where are you? That's not great medical advice. A blood test can be drawn at any time and is type specific if they order the correct one.

Sorry for the late reply. Here is an update on my situation:

Yesterday, I went back to the ER I went to before and was told that in order to be able to perform the type specific test I would have to have an outbreak to have something to swab. I never had suffered any symptoms at all, but the only thing they could do is the combined test which shows I have the virus. I don't know what else to do. I want to know since I guess I have it which version of herpes do I have. I want to let my my girl know exactly.

There must be an actual result somewhere, all you have provided is the interpretative range. Where are you on the range?

A combined test does have validity if it is negative as it most probably means you do not have any form of HSV. If it is positive then it is pretty useless as pointed out as 60% of the population test positive to usually an oral HSV1 infection.

Why are you testing and what symptoms are involved?

Nope. What I copied is the only thing written on my results paper I was given.

I called again just now and was told that "detected" means that I have the virus, but it isn't active. It is dormant. I was also told that it means I had it or recently had gotten it. Like I said my girl was tested positive for it, but all I got is detected.

I will just go back up to the ER and speak to the doctor I saw when I got the test done.

I agree that this was the wrong test to get. What Maurice copied was the scale used to explain your results, not the result itself. That may be on a different column of the report. IF the result was under 0.91 and enough time has passed since the last possible exposure, couldn't that be interpreted as having neither HSV-1 nor HSV-2?

haha, life360.   Yeah, tell him you are short on funds and should get this check up for no charge because of the doctors error in using the wrong test.  Herpes type specific IgG blood test mate!

That sucks! Why would they do it like that if I needed something specific? I went in to be checked for genital herpes because I told them my girl got her results not too long before, and I wanted to know if I had it or not.

Hi, this test was useless and a waist of money. Its a combined test, you need a specific test.
