How is HSV2 transmitted?

My boyfriend and I just tested for a range of STDs. HIV, HSV, Hep, bacterial infections. He was all negative. I tested positive for HSV2, but have never had any symptoms. Can I transmit it to him by performing oral sex on him or him on me or by anal sex with him being on top if we wanted to be unprotected? Also, is there a risk from kissing? I am on no medications. Thank you very much.

Shedding with hsv2 occurs anywhere from 15% to 30% of days. Swuints is correct that hsv2 is rarely an oral infection. When it is is sheds very little and if your infection is oral, it's highly unlikely you would ever spread it through oral sex. No chance through kissing really.
You can shed the virus anywhere in the boxer shorts region, so using protection is the safer thing to do but that decision is completely up to you two.

It's passed by what they call shedding, any area in the "gym shorts area" can be affected. Shedding happens from time to time usually around an outbreak, as long as you know where your hsv2 breaks out. oral should be fine, it's not super common to be on the mouth. And when the virus is shedding any sex if he's on top or you're on top can spread the virus to him. I would suggest always using a condom untill you become more familiar with how the virus effects you.

No. That is pretty conclusive. You can always take another test to be certain
