What next?

I am a 27 yr old male and I have just tested positive for HSV1...

result:Herpes Simplex Virus Type I IgG Test (HerpeSelect) 2.14 0.00-0.90 Positive

and my result for HSV2 was: Herpes Simplex Virus Type II IgG Test (HerpeSelect)  <0.91 0.00-0.90 Negative

I know HSV1 is oral herpes but I received unprotected oral sex and the lesions are on my penis.

Questions:

Do I now have HSV2 since the site of infection is on my penis?

I know there is no cure but once I treat the lesions on my penis what are the odds of recurrence?

If this HSV1 infection at this site goes away what are the odds of another genital occurance of the lesions since this is HSV1 and not HSV2?

I never came into contact with the infected individual with my mouth, it was oral sex performed on me..what are the risks of infecting others that I kiss?

I am a little freaked out right now because I just learned my diagnosis and now kow what these small lesions are.

Thank You

I have not had it swabbed yet. Just a blood test (assume antibody) I just received test reults as indicated so I googled GHSV1 infections and it looks identical to the patch of very small blisters on my penis. I noticed the lesions approx. 2-3 days after initial exposure.

These small pimple like blisters dont itch or burn at all.

Cant I assume that the blood test that indicated HSV1 positive and HSV2 at  Herpes Simplex Virus Type II IgG Test (HerpeSelect)  <0.91 0.00-0.90 Negative
to tell me that this IS in fact Genital HSV1?

I will be going to my doctor to get a swab.

OK, lets step back a minute.  Did you have the lesions on your penis swab tested or did you just have an antibody test done?  What were the lesions like on your penis?  How long did they last, how soon after contact did they show up, did you treat them with anything, did any professional see them?

If you do have HSV 1 genitally, which is not uncommon, your recurrences will be infrequent, perhaps a couple a year, perhaps less.  It does not become HSV 2, it stays HSV 1.

But you can't know for certain, if you've never had a swab test, if the HSV 1 infection is oral or genital.  If it wasn't swabbed, then the next time you get one, you should definitely have it swab tested.
