HSV 6?

I noticed a few bumps around my vaginal area after an episode of unprotected sex.  The doctor biopsied and said they were not HSV and sent me to they gynecologist who said they look like mulloscum.  At any rate, the gyn is shaking his head as he can't figure out why I was tested for HSV 6.   I tested positve but low so the interpretation of the test result was "past infection"

What is HSV 6????

Thanks.
Will do!  Not going back to the doctor until Jan 15th.  I just want to know what is wrong with me so I don't spread anything!

Might've been a clerical error - someone entered test # 101 instead of #110 or something.  dyslexic typists untie!!!

If you need help with your test results when you get them - just post the numeric results here - ie hsv1 igg 2.6 and hsv2 igg .32 or whatever they are.

Thank you Grace!
After much investigation, I found out that almost 100% of the population has this.  The doctor wasn't sure why it was ran for 6 and not 1 or 2.  So back to have more blood drawn!  Lucky me!
Thanks for your reply!

Almost all of us will test positive for a past herpes 6 infection - it's more commonly known as roseola and most of us get it as infants/small children.  why you were even tested for it in the first place I have no idea.

The biopsy was negative for herpes.  Blood test said herpes type 6.

The biopsy said herpes virus type 6? Or did you have a blood test that said herpes 6?
