are these symptoms of herpes?

I  am a female who had a one night stand 3 weeks ago.   He wore a condom but gave me unprotected oral sex.  I did not notice any sores on his mouth or genitals.  About 11 days after, I noticed a tiny papercut or fissure right above my clitoris and a little bit of a burning/tingling sensation.  The day before i noticed this,  i nicked myself with my razor in the same area so i attributed this to a razor irritation.  Two days later i noticed that the little cut was gone but now i had a small red patch near the same location...i was worried so looked up std symptoms and found that u can have mild redness and fissures and have herpes.  So the next day i went to my gyno and she said that she doesn't think it is herpes but she'll swab the area to be sure.  She said that her gut tells her it is not but there is the possibility that it could have healed and the results from swab woulldn't be able to tell.  So two days later i noticed that the red spot was dry and flakey and peeled off.  The flakes were circular and white.  No bumps or any classic herpes symptoms.  I'm awaiting my swab results and am worried sick that it is herpes.  Does this sound like herpes? Or could it be thrush, psoriasis, eczema, or razor infection?  What do you think???? Any ideas???

if you've never had a herpes blood test before then I recommend getting one now to see what your status is. never hurts to know if you have hsv1, hsv2 or both.

I wouldn't bother testing just from this encounter though. should you get a return of symptoms, be sure to be seen promptly again for a further work up. when you call for the results of your lesion culture, ask if you were tested for yeast and bacterial infections too since you have itching.

Thanks for responding.  My provider thought it just looked like dry skin and since I told her i think i may have irritated it from shaving she thought it was from that.  She only saw it when it was a red patch not when it was peeling.  I'm not sure if she tested for yeast or bacterial infections but I know she did do a pap smear.  I'm not sure if i ever had a yeast infection so i'm not familiar with the symptoms of one.  However my pubic area did feel itchy.  Could you get a yeast infection from a shaving abrasion?  I should get my swab results by tomorrow.  I've just never had anything like this so i am worried especially with the timing of the one night stand.  I did ask my provider about blood testing for herpes and she shrugged it off saying that i shouldn't do a blood test.  Would you advise one after 3 or 4 mo's to be sure?  Thats what i've been reading.  Thanks again for your input.

This doesn't sound like a newly acquired herpes infection. Wait for your lesion culture results and consider some herpes igg blood testing just to cover your bases.

did your provider also test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too? Did she say what she thought was going on?
