confirmation on HSV2
i had the protected sex 5.5 months back
later there was burning sensation on penis after 4.5 months then i went to dermatologist clinic and he asked me do to all stds except HPV . My results are negative for all stds except HSV2 .
HSV 2 Igm is positive but HSV2 & HSV1 IGG is negative . I did these test one week back (21 weeks from sexual exposure)
but now i am having itching and burning on my penis and also have small one blister on it
i am confused now my doctor said that this is recent infection and IGG will be turned to positive after 6 months or one year .i am so sad now please tell me really am i exposed to HSV2 ?

100% will show up at 3 month unless they have have another hsv which could delay but not more than 4 months.

You tested negative a the perfect time with a very accurate test so your symptoms are not herpes related.
How the herpes symtomes are possible with igg test negstive aftet 6 months and I do not have any sex for 6 months .how the accuracy of timing is changing it is really miracle for me
Can i trust this Igg test at 24 weeks since i have frequent burning sensation with red pimples and one pimpls look like blister some time I felt head ache . There are very confusing me . And also dr edward w hook said that some people will get positive even after 6 months is it true my local doctor also said that these are herpes symtomes .I feel it is miracle for me
Thanks for the reply .none of the lab have swabb test at my home towm so i did igg elisa bloot test again my both hsv 1 and 2 is negative .i did these test in different lab but i did not repeat igm test thod timr .but still i have burning sensation and with red pimpls on my penis.so still i am worried how to confirm hsv infection
Did you have your blister swabbed? Your symptoms would concern me, specifically the single blister.
I wouldn't trust an IGG in your spot at this point because you have clear symptoms and an IGM that is positive. Yes, IGM is unreliable and IGG trumps it from a confirmation standpoint, but at time it does truly mean recent infection.
Please have your sores swabbed for herpes. To me they sound herpetic. However, I am not a doctor and you should be seen by one for those lesions.

yes it is Euroimmun only
so i will leave herpes infection though .but hsv Igm test will became false positive due to HPV virus infection

one more question i forgot to mention that every where HSV IGG Elisa blood test will be common one?
yes i did not have any exposure with in 21 weeks . then what is the reason for HSV2 IGM positive with itching ,irritation and blister on penis? . should i take any confirmation test? or have to wait for some time to confirm this ? or my IGG blood test (Elisa ) done at India is accurate?
If you have had no sexual partners for 21 weeks leading into these tests, then you do not have HSV2. That is plenty of time to seroconvert using the IgG tests.

IgM though is a test that has many false positives. Other proteins in your blood bind to the test and cause a false reading. The IgG experiences fewer false positives (but still does) and a negative at 21 weeks is conclusive. You do not have herpes.
