Has your wife been tested? If she has cold sores or fever blisters you could have gotten HSV-1 genitally.
Its to bad the doctor didn't do a lesion culture on the blister.
My advice is have your wife tested with a HSV IGG blood test so she knows her status and what precautions if any you need to take. HSV-1 genitally doesn't have a high reoccurance rate so that is a positive.
Please feel free to keep asking us questions.

you are + for hsv1 as most adults are. typically it's the cause of oral herpes infections.
what led to your getting tested?was this just a general screening or had you had an encounter you were worried about or symptoms genitally?
