do have herpes?

I am 20 and lost my virginity a month ago to a friend of mine ,who for three months prior to losing my virginity,  I'd been having- for lack of a better phrase- Foreplay with (which includes everything but penetrative sex). After about the 10th or 11th time that we did it I experienced a lot of pain while passing urine. I took some antibiotics for that(didn't help) the next day I found two sores on my genital area and then resolved to see a doctor.  The GP said it looked to her like genital herpes and that she would treat me for it. After about a week or so the sores had cleared and I could pass urine normally.
I told my partner about it all and he showed me a report from an STD test he'd done about a year ago and he tested negative for everything including HSV type-1. He is also currently showing no symptoms whatsoever of the STD or any for that matter.
I've just got the flu and I now am having another "outbreak" all I have is the sores and some itching but my discharge is normal (clear, normal consistency and no odour) I also have itching in/around my anus ... its worse off when I sleep and after I urinate, almost feels like theres something crawling around there but I check and there's nothing.
I'm not sure what to do anymore, and if it is herpes is there any way that I could have gotten it some other way since my partner is clear?

yes in about 2 weeks. There is a stage it goes through. It appears, scabs over and heals.

out of interest,  does an outbreak dissappear even without the use of antivirals?

Herpes sores are clear liquid so if there are white liquid it would not be consistant with herpes sores.

He's never had any sores... or at least there weren't any when we were together. An update though the sores have an almost milky mucus that comes from them I don't know what to make of it... the sores have pretty much shown up where they had before... but they just seem different.

Hi. well first of all you dont know if you have herpes as testing is the only way to know. You can have a blood test or a swab of a new sore within 48 hours after appearing. If his test was done a year ago and hes had foreplay or sex since, the past test would not be indicative that he does not have herps. Keep in mind that herpes sores show up only on one side. Really not sure how helpful we can be here answering your question. Were you doing alot of hard friction rubbing in the area where the sores broke out to his genital area? If he did not have any sores at the time the risk would be quite low that you contracted herpes.
