eating at someones home...i have hsv1

im going to be in california for the next year. eating at host homes every night. im afraid i will transmit hsv1 to them through utensils. should i be afraid?

you have absolutely no reason to be afraid!!

hsv1 orally is transmitted through romantic type kisses. you don't transmit it as an adult through sharing food or drinks. soap and water easily kills the virus too so no reason to be afraid of using utensils anywhere!
