I have had the same partner now for over two years. In July 2010, several days after we'd had sex, I noticed that the skin on my left leg hurt. It was tender to the touch, almost like a sunburn, but no redness or sores. Two or three days later, I began to experience pain/discomfort on an area on my labia. I checked and saw a red bump about the size of a small pea, no other lesions. It continued to hurt, so I went to my gynecologist who did a number of tests, and when the results came back, I was told that I tested positive for HSV-2. I have never had other symptoms prior to this, and have been faithful to my partner since we began to see each other. I am not so sure that he has been as monogamous. I believe that I was exposed by him, and want to know if this sounds like a recent exposure to you? My doctor said it was very atypical in the way it looked (no cluster of lesions, just the one bump).
