exposure

i went to a strip club about a year and half ago. Had a long lap dance from a stripper that was nude. I had on pants and a shirt but during the session by shirt was not fully down and my lower abdomen was exposed for a short period maybe 10 seconds I realized and pulled my shirt back down. I am not sure if the girl rubbed herself on me but now am paranoid I have had some itching and redness on my scrotum and today I think I have an ulcer on the side of my scrotum. I am also suffering from chronic hives. I have been married for a number of years and was previously tested for all std's 6 or 7 years ago. Have never had any other kind of exposure. Could this exposure cause a herpes or hiv infection? thanks

No, I've not seen chronic hives from genital HSV  infection.  And yes, a scratch from you could heal in a couple of days, from herpes, less likely.

Sorry for another post but I saw on website that chronic hives can be from HSV? Have you seen this in your experience because at night my arms and back itch during certain times.

Thanks

thank you for your reply, I think the ulcer I saw on Friday was from scratching that happend when I was sort of sleeping during Thursday night. I do remember that I was sweating and was itchy in the groin area, Hence that yeast problem. I do remember that I scratched pretty hard and was in pain for a very short time, but was to tired to get up. If it was not from the my self scratching and it was an ulcer from herpes. Do ulcer really heal that fast? (Friday to Sunday, 2 days)

thanks

If your HSV 1 and 2 tests were negative 6 years ago, your wife is negative for both HSV 1 and 2, and the strip club was your only other possibility for infection, then I can't imagine that you are infected.  The abdomen has very thick skin and is not really vulnerable to first infection without a break in the skin.  The abdomen can be a site of recurrence, but that's not what we are talking about here.  I too hope your test comes back negative.

When I had my full std panal 6 years ago, they did all testing. I did check with the doctors office and the nurse said they tested for all std's including hsv I and II. They also said that they checked for activate and dormant stage of virus. My wife was fully checked twice with the birth of our two kids. The ulcer or whatever that was healed in 48 hours (saw it Friday early evening seem to close by Sunday night, no scabbing) which seems short, but has left my skin a lighter color. I called Monday (yesterday) to a clinic. Was examined by the nurse practitioner today (Tuesday) and she said it seems I have yeast problem due to moisture in the area. (gave me instructions on how to take care of that) She also said that since my wife has had no type of problem in the last 18 months that was a good sign. She does not think there is a problem but cannot be 100% sure. She said that it was a strange place for HSV and in her experience it mostly occurs on the penis. I did question "would the hsv virus show up at the site of infection which would be my abdomen?" The nurse did not think so but on the herpes.com website states that it would be most likely be at site of infection for reoccurance. Not sure if that is correct if you would please give me your opinion.  She did say the probablity is very low as you stated, but she realized that due to my stress level I need complete closure on the situation and we are having the test done. I pray that it comes back negative and I can move on with my life and more important my family.  Terri if would give me your opionion on the site of infection I would certainly appreciate it!!! Thanks so much for your reply!

I think any risk from this type of exposure is extremely low.  However, the ulcer on the side of the scrotum is worrying as that is not normal.  When you say that you were tested for everything 6-7 years ago, are you absolutely certain that that testing included herpes tested?  Often, STD screens do not.  I would double check if I were you, just to be certain.  Was your wife also tested?  Had you just told me about the stripper contact, I would tell you that you have concerns at all.  However, when you add the scrotum ulcer, that increases my concerns for you - not due to the stripped contact, but just your sexual health aside from that contact.  Could you get it checked out right away?
