Hello,

Couple of questions for you folks.

1.  I have no thyroid, noticed yesterday i had a small break out ( i have HSV2)  and was over come with fatigue.    Is this normal?

2.   can the HSV2  be causing me daily fatigue even when im not having a break out?  I have a break out maybe 3 times a year.

3.  I think valtrex makes me tired.  Am i alone?

Hard to tell which one. You can try using acyclovir instead. for recurrences it's easiest to take 800mg 3 times a day for 2 days. Hitting the virus quick and hard seems to help recurrences heal fastest.

i only took it a few times when i had a break out.   i just remember being knocked on my butt, but it might of been from the virus itself and not from the pill?

It's not unusual at all to feel tired when you have a hsv2 recurrence. when the virus reactivates, the body gets busy fighting it off to help start the healing process.

Would herpes give you daily fatigue? no it would not.

Some folks just don't do well on valtrex. Do you take it daily to ward off recurrences or just when you have obvious lesions present? Have you ever tried acyclovir instead?
