Sometimes an initial outbreak can take up to a month to finally heal. This is because your body has not had the chance to develop the antibodies. I would continue you dosage of valacyclovir and maybe take a Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the pain. If it is still painful in another 2 weeks go back to the doctor. Stay strong!
Thank you for your response. This has been so difficult to deal with and it has been going on for more than a month now and this is actually my 2nd obgyn I have gone through to get help and I have tried several creams nothing helps me. I really don't understand any of this. My fiance has never showed any signs of herpes he has never had a cold sore whereas I have but he wont even kiss me when I have had one.I just don't understand why I have this down there and want it to just go away. I have itched for years all day and all night now I am getting these painful tears no blisters
You really shouldn't start a second thread, when so much of the important information is in the other one (which jerry456 might not have seen). As discussed in the other one, there are reasons to suspect that herpes isn't the only explanation for your symptoms. See my reply to your latest question in that one.
