Got Herpes in 2009..Dr put me on 800mg once a day,Not the 400mg twice a day Does he know what hes doing? I haven't have a OB sincr the first one in 2009....2ND... Question with no visible OB is in unlikely to give this to my partner while taking the 800mg once a day..or what is the % chance of getting it while on this doseage...Alot of different info on this topix
Don't assume anything with doctors. There is something not quite right in all you are saying. Please get tested again. You do not want to be taking meds unnecessarily or disclosing something that isn't correct, do you?
yes i had blood test..Dont remember which the Doctor said 1 or hsv2,,,Im sure it was hsv2 since he put me on the antivirals..Thanks
Have you only been diagnosed visually? If so you need a blood test straight away to confirm. You should not be taking daily antivirals without a confirmed diagnosis.
Being HSV1 can make a big difference. First, you probably do not need daily meds if this is the case. Second, it is likely that a partner will already have HSV1 and not become infected any further given the immunity.

hsv1 or 2 Whats the Differents??? I still don't want her to get infected from me....Or is hsv1 harder to get infected by? back in 2009 one very small outbreak on the head of my penis...I can't remember If the Doctor told which hsv1 or 2...Been on the meds ever since... And havent seen any signs of an outbreak... hsv1 or 2 what would be the differents in the Risk of having unprotected sex with my GF with me on the Dailey Meds??Thanks
But how was it confirmed? If you've never had another outbreak perhaps it's HSV1? What do your blood tests reveal?

I meant if my GF gives me oral..IS it easy for her to catch HSV2 from me Giving me oral...And any comments on the other questions on my first post? YES DOCTOR confirmed HSV2
I think you should reconfirm your diagnosis. How were you diagnosed was it accurately determined to be HSV1 or HSV2?
