Did you take your daughter to the pediatrician to be examined? As her parent you are obligated to do so - your fear over the health of your child is not a good thing.
HSV2 in a child would mean transmission at birth from the HSV2+ mother to child via the birth canal. Your child would have become quite ill within a couple of days and most likely been hospitalized. At age 10, were it genital herpes, it would have required sexual (genital to genital) contact - it's an STD.
I am guessing you have Genital Herpes. If that is the case (given the location) you can stop thinking that is the case right now. You only shed the virus both with and without symptoms in the genital region. Genital Herpes is considered an STD because it is only transmitted during sexual contact. If you kissed your daughter or something of that nature you wouldn't transmit the virus.
Now if you had oral HSV-2 that would be a different story but wouldn't cause a problem on her butt. Have her checked by your doctor.
