herpes or poison ivy?

Hey everyone,

I got tested for everything and came up clean and passed the visual test for herpes. My doctor said that I didn't have to take a herpes blood test if I never had a symptom. BUT I went camping last weekend with my new girlfriend. She was a virgin before we did it last weekend camping so dont worry about that. But we had it thursday and every morning and night until saturday, Now sunday morning I woke up and had a few little red dots on me not on my penis of scrotum but around my pubes and up near my belly buttom. Our canoe rubbed up against poison ivy and I grabbed it to pull it out of the water as well as slide it against my body both like friday and saturday, I could have easily got onto my clothes and got there once I took them off to have sex with her again.

My question is would it be possible for a case of HSV 2 to pop up 8 months later because of new sex or something> We used a condom and everything. Or is this just an unlucky area to get poison ivy hahaha?  could you tell me any distinct differences between ivy and herpes?

thanks!
