Sorry to ask this in a thread not my own, but this is interesting. Would something that I thought might be initial outbreak at 6-7 months be unlikely to be HSV?

so the final conclusion is if u have a cold sore with in 4 weeks of exposure then it is most probably hsv and after that window period it is not ..right??

Fleetwood is correct, its outside the window. Nothing to be confused about. Hes not talking about not having an outbreak, hes talking about having an outbreak at the 4-5 week mark.

i read comments of fleetwood.. he said any sore after 4 to 5 weeks of exposure cannot be considered as an hsv 1... and people say they don't have symptoms even after years...im confusedd

the average is the first week or 2 after exposure and yes cold sores are part of the symptoms.

8 weeks is a good indicator and not likely to change

Ups the risk but the neck is not an area to pass it as prefers soft mucus areas like the lips. Really nothing to be concerned about.
