hsv-2 herpeselect igg//false positive

Hello all, Im going through a very devastating ordeal in my life. I found out a few days ago i have hsv-2. The test that was done, was done through quest diagnostics. i was completely stunned by this. my igg index was 2.55. I know i have hsv-1, i had it since i was a child. I just recently had a baby and experienced no outbreaks whats so ever. I never experienced any outbreaks in the genital region. While i was in labor i had a hsv-1 outbreak,(cold sores), but not a hvs-2 outbreak, which is also confusing. i would have contracted this disease before i was pregnant. Wouldnt the pregnancy have weakened my immune system? Could this be a false positive result?

Grace you are a life saver!!!!! I had a Western Blot performed 3 weeks ago. I got the results today from Terri Warren and it came back NEGATIVE FOR HSV2!!!!!!!!! Im so excited.. You are a blessing. i would have went on thinking i had herpes and i really didnt. If it wasnt for you and Terri, i would have lived my life as if i had herpes..I think what your doing here is a blessing.. Thank You so much..

your hsv2 igg is a low positive and indeed will need repeated to confirm your status.

how long prior to testing had you last had sex?

do you have a regular partner? if you do, have they been tested yet to know their own status?
