hsv1 or 2 genital

5mths ago i recived the news i had hsv so i kinda lost it. i was uneducated about hsv and went to talk to the doc about my results, i did not find out till 2days ago you can get hsv1 on your genitals so now im lost. the day i talk to the doc he did say some things that had me lost like he said he got it from his grand mother when he was a kid and i kinda assumed that was starnge but i out respect. and he keep telling me that i may only have one more out brake threw my whole life, i alwayz assumed hsv in your genital was for sure hsv2 so i did not ask him what number it was. he told me the only way i can pass it if i had sores at that time and told me to take my meds for five days and i can have sex agin with out spreading it after my out brake if i had another one. before i left i asked him when is he going to rx me some valtrex and he told me valtrex is not for me or people like me. i had sex once with a condom with her and it was no micro holes when i checked but she mainly gave me oral 4 times that night and i had the 2 sores on the tip of my forskin when i went to get it tested. its been only 6mths and i have no noticable outbrakes yet thank God no paine.

so where do i go get a blood test to make sure?

first thing you can do is call the clinic and find out if they typed your lesion culture to know if it's hsv1 or hsv2. if they didn't type it then you should get a type specific herpes igg blood test done.

yes it came back as a + but i did not ask i assumed aall of it was the same. i know i have it but  i dont know if its hsv1 or 2 i was mad and i left confused because he said the only way i can spread it if i had sores and he said valtrex was not for people like me. and he said i could only have 1 more out brake for the rest of my life

so none of your testing came back as + for herpes then?

you can have your regular doctor order you a type specific herpes igg blood test or if you don't have a regular provider yet, check into ordering it yourself through either healthcheckusa.com or tstd.org or a similar online service.

they did not tell me it was genital herpes, they was asking why im so up set. and no i did not ask if it was hsv2 i assumed any hsv on your genitals were hsv2. i dont have the paper work to that clinic so i cant call bcuz they did not ask for my name they gave me a # and im known as a # so i gues i cant go off the words that i remember he said so where do i go get a test done at know im in another city and state?

so you had symptoms in your genital area and you were seen for them. they did a lesion culture on them and determined that they were genital herpes. do I have this right?  You have no idea if it's hsv1 or hsv2 genitally at this point correct?

start off by calling the clinic you were diagnosed at and ask if they typed your culture to know if it's hsv1 or hsv2.

the swab and i seen cold sores all on the guy she cheated on me with lips and i told her about it and she said she got checked and she dont have a thing. and he told her it was from " ingrown hairs"

What type/kind test you had?- (swab test or blood test)
You may contracted HSV 1 in childhood by being kissed or Oral sex. Not all HSV on genital must be Virus 2 some people have virus 1 on genital. If you do have Virus 1 on genital may or not have another outbreak and also viral shedding is very less( expert says)

You may take IGG type spefc blood for Virus 1 and 2.
