Just found out I got herpes

Im a 22 y/o female. I just found out I have genital herpes. I had originally gone to the doctor b/c i thought I had a yeast infection. After the doctor examined the area she said that she needed to do a herpes test. I was in complete shock, and couldnt help but begin to cry. I understand that it takes awhile to get used to this, but i cant help but feel as though my love life is over. I told my boyfriend last night and he was shocked. However he also said he loved me and he wasn't going anywhere. That totally surprised me, and who knows how long that will stay true.  I know he isnt going to want to sleep with me again and hes going to start being distant. In a way I cant blame him. Its scary. I feel so isolated and depressed. I also dont have anyone to talk to about it since i dont want to tell anyone. Basically I just dont know what to think anymore. I feel to young for this to have happened to me. I have always been careful. I just dont get it. I dont know what to think anymore. I guess if anyone has any helpful information for me that would be awesome.

I commend you for being honest and just getting it out there. I was diagnosed with H when I was only 16 years old, my 1st time and it was an older guy. Out the blue he just wanted to break up, I was devastated and later found out why he wanted to get out of dodge. My best-friend has it too and she told her boyfriend and he said the same thing and even acted like he was H free, but she found out a year later that he was the one who had it 1st, which is why he was so forgiving and all along it was him. Not saying that this is your case, but I would just go with it. You told him and he's cool with it. You are the same woman he was with last week, nothings changed. Honestly, some people have told me that after time, it's almost forgotten they're just more careful. Don't lose your confidence like I did it will destroy you if you do. You're young and still healthy. Watch your diet, take your meds, vitamins, and supplements, don't stress and just enjoy your life. Good luck with everything.
