Test Score Confusion

About 3 months ago I went and had an STD screen done and everything came back negative except for HSV2, which was a surprise to me as I have not shown any symptoms of the virus to my knowledge. The scores of my first test were...

HSV-1 IgG  0.14

HSV-2 IgG  2.23

HSV-1/2 IgM  0.68

and the second test (roughly 3 months later)...

HSV-1 IgG  0.16

HSV-2 IgG  0.05

HSV-1/2 IgM 0.56

I am very confused with both of these sets of scores. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So far I have been very unsuccessful in aquiring a correct diagnosis.

The reason for my concern is that I too came down with a case of tonsillitis before I tested positive on my first STD screen.

I know I tested negative on my last test, but my girlfriend recently has come down with a case of tonsillitis and I cant help but think that my second test was innacurate and that a herpes infection caused her tonsillitis. Is this possible?

you are negative for hsv1 and hsv2 both.

your first hsv2 igg was a low positive which has a risk of being a false positive. when you retested a few months later and was negative, that's confirmatory testing enough.
