well obviously she didn't get hsv2 from him then if she really has it if he had igg herpes testing done and was negative for hsv2.
grace,
he was tested for all std's and type specific hsv. He is not sure of the actual name of the test whether igg or igm. He has read her report and it states that the outbreak severity seems to be primary. Can they be sure of a recent exposure? Nothing about this makes a whole lot of sense.
My testing was done by Quest and it was Herpeselect. Both Igg and Igm. so I'm feeling fairly confident about the acuracy. (emphasis on fairly)... It is hard to stay clinical in my responses here. Somewhere in this mix is a mistake.
just be sure that your partner has actually been tested properly for herpes. It's not a part of routine std testing so he should specifically ask to be sure and make sure it was type specific igg testing.
if she had other partners prior to him then she had hsv2 before him ( or contracted it since she's been with him ).

Hi,
Thanks for responding so quickly. My test results came in today and they are negative. Evidently, according to my doctor, I had the latest in testing technology. So I am thankful. So the mystery remains how she is positive HSV 2. My guess here is that it is all just a calculated attempt to "get back" at her ex husband and there is no positive test results. I don't know, but HSV 2 isn't a joke and should'nt be used as a means to an end!! Anyway, I have learned quite a lot about this disease. Probably more than I ever wanted! Again thanks for your informative and timely response.
with regards,
O'Silvia
Everyone who gets HSV has an initial outbreak. Though it can be mild and sometimes ingored for something else that is not always the case. So not having symptoms sometimes isn't the best way of knowing because some people don't know the symptoms.
Yes it is more common for a male to transmit to a female than a female to male.
