Genital Herpes or Shingles?

I get a patch of small white blisters on the back of my right leg behind my knee. This blisters do start out as a red patch. They are filled with cleared fluid. It is extremely painful and itch horribly. After a couple days the blisters pop and the fluid leaks out. After the fluid leaks out the blisters will scab over. Before these blisters outbreak I always feel pain in the back of my leg and then the outbreak will happen a few days later. This outbreak always happens on the rightside of my body in the exact some spot. The outbreak often scars as well. Initially they treated me for a staph infection and then did a bacteria culture and realized there was nothing growing in it. Thats when the doctor decided it was viral and told me it was shingles. However, my OBGYN told me she believes it is genital herpes because of where I keep getting the outbreak. She said that I may never get an outbreak in my genital area but could still have genital herpes on my leg. I have never had an outbreak on my genital area and have never had a fever blister. Could my OBGYN be correct? Just wondering because it went from being a staph infection to shingles and now possibly by a 3rd doctor genital herpes. Just wondering what your opinion is.

shingles won't reoccur like this.

you can get a type specific herpes igg blood test done to see what your status is. the provider who told you it won't tell you type, was wrong.

also the patches of blisters will grow together, forming a solid mass and will scab over. In the last 4 years I have only had maybe 2-3 outbreaks. However, since I got pregnant I have had 3 outbreaks. My doctor that has been treating me for this said it was due to being under more stress. Does Genital Herpes have the same symptoms as shingles? I was convinced it was shingles but now im not sure because of what my OBGYN said. She also said she could run a test for herpes but the test they run with not tell you if its 1 or 2 just if you have herpes. However, my last outbreak it was to late to do a cultural because it was already scabbed over. My partner has been tested for herpes hiv and other stds and his results came back negative.  He is the only person that I have been with. My OBGYN thinks that my doctor has misdisagionsed me and that since I have had these outbreaks on my leg that it has actually been genital herpes. I mean I have had this since 2006. If my fiance has tested negative twice since we been together and we have never used protection is it possible that these outbreaks are really genital herpes?
