Since is not a venereal but skin disease, since there is no vaccine nor cure, since is part of the common flu virus and since it seem likely that most of the population have hsv1 and soon more than half will have hsv2 according to calculations of the cdc.

No herpes is more or less just a reoccurring skin condition. Yes a lot of people have it. Its more of a irritation than anything else. Herpes does make it easier to contract other stds including hiv. I get a cold sore or 2 every few years on my lip, that is herpes 1. I've been with my girlfriend for 8 years and she has never had a out break, lip or anywhere else. Some people carry it and never know. God bless
