Confused about herpes and warts

Hello,

I find this site very helpful to people out there confused about symptoms on sexual health. I am fairly new to this and hopeful someone can help me with my symptoms.

Okay, three days ago I noticed what looked like little bumps or skin tags or warts I don't what it may be, on my scrotum.  I couldn't notice the lesions only if I stretch the scrotum skin out.  One was fairly bigger than the other one.  They looked kind of red but they did not hurt if I touched them,  I went over the larger one with my finger and I felt it smooth.  I started to kind of pick at the larger one and clear fluid started to come out.  I immediately cleaned it off with antibacterial soap and put bacitracin on it.  After cleaning it, it look like the bump was still there but no sore was created.  It's been three days now and it just looks like a pinkish bump.  It still kind of oozes clear fluid if I pick at it but again still no sore.  I have no pain when I shower they just hurt if I pick at it.  Base on my symptoms, could this be an indication of either herpes, genital warts?? I've read a lot that genital warts don't ooze clear fluid but herpes does.  But the lesion I have on my scrotum is not an open sore but rather a bump.  I have had molluscum contagious but I don't remember if they looked the same from that on my penile shaft so I am very confused.  My dermatologist can't book me in his schedule until late January so I need immediate answers on this confusion.  What can this be??

Thank you
Tyler

It is condyloma, genital warts, they can also be confused with herpes, they also have clear fluid and are by each other, but yet are not really painful, and they will just " flake away" not scab unless messed with. To confirm at home put  vinegar on it and if area turns white, then hpv.

you would need to be seen again and get this looked at.

Hello grace

Thanks for the response.  Okay going back to the first post about the small bumps on my scrotum.  They seem to still be there.  They healed just as u said they would, but they are still there like from the first time I saw them on my scrotum.  Could these possibly be genital warts??

you really shouldn't be obsessing that this is a std.

the provider you saw told you what is going on and you have no reason to doubt them.  most bacterial skin infections from shaving will clear up on their own which is why I recommended what I did. folliculitis is very common and the bacteria can be spread through razors hence why I recommended changing/cleaning razor too.

Hey Grace

Thanks for the response again.  So I went to an urgent care center and a doctor looked at some of the sores on both my inner thighs.  I explained to him that I shaved down there and after a day and a half the sores started to appear.  He took a small glance at the sores and just said that it looks like a skin infection.  So he prescribed me some bactrobin, which is a stronger dose of bacitricin and some antibiotics just in case the infection doesn't appear to get better within two days of the bactrobin treatment.  I'm not trying to second guess the doctor but should I have gone to a planned parenthood where nurse practitioners deal with and see all sorts of stds or was that doctor opinions on me having a skin infection fully credible?  I just feel like those kind of doctors just don't deal with these types of things.  Since I see small open sores I feel a little scared he might just over looked the sores and based my symptoms on the explanation I gave him.  Shouldn't the doctor feel the obligation to take a culture of the small sores or should I go to a planned parenthood?? Because I know if they were to see the sores on my inner thighs at planned parenthood they would've taken a culture of them.  I guess I'm just a little confused with this grace.

this doesn't sound like herpes.

stop poking and prodding!! stop shaving too. toss the razor you used or change the blade if it's not disposable. if you used an electric razor, properly clean it.

I'd stop with the neosporin and certainly nothing else but plain soap and water once a day to wash with.  I'd go with a body powder like shower to shower or even plain cornstarch ( you can buy this in the baby powder section or cheaper yet - pick up a box in the baking section of the store ). this will soothe irritated skin, reduce friction and absorb excess moisture.

Hey grace

I wanted to let you know about new symptoms I have been experiencing.
On Saturday night I shaved my whole pubic area with a razor.  On Sunday I noticed a small bump on my inner thigh in between the crease of my scrotum and thigh.  It was kind of hard to see since the bump was prett far back but I managed to see there was a hair in the bump so I figured it was an ingrown hair.  I went to an urgent center so a physician can take a better lool at it.  He told me he also thought it was an ingrown hair or a insect bite and just gave me a bacitricin to put on it since there was a lil open sore where the blood came out of after pullin the hair.  On Sunday night I was checking my scrotum thigh area more and more not really satisfied with the decision.  Now I want to say that I have severe stretch marks same place I have the bump at on both inner thighs.  I also have thick thighs so they rub against one another a lot.  So everytime I would check the thigh/scrotum area, I felt my stretch marks stretch out since I would stretch out the area more and more everytime I checked it.  I just out on bacitricin.  Monday morning I checked the same area again stretching my skin out since it is hard to see the area where the bump is at.  I checked through the mirror that I had small open sores on inside the stretch marks.  I had some hibiclens in my possession and put it on these open sores when I showered.  What i didn't realize is that the bottle says not to put on hibiclens on open wounds so that explains the burning I felt between my thighs after I finished showering.  Throughout the day at work,  it burned because I put on tight boxers and I felt my thighs rubbing against the cloth.  Today is Wednsday and the past days I would just put on bacitricin.  No These sores look be diminishing but still open and looks like there's flaky around the area since i would apply bacitricin. Doesn't look like they're are crusting or scabbing over and stop burning since I no longer applied hibiclens on the open wounds. Now I've had these open sores before but just on one thigh.  I'm afraid these may be herpes.  I had unprotected sex with a girl a couple of times back on September.  So my questions are:

1.  Could the stretching of the stretch marks be the cause of the open sores?
2.  Does this sound like genital herpes?

if you are in the US, healthcheckusa.com and tstd.org are both legitimate sites.

Thanks for the response Grace,

Okay I went to get these bumps checked out and the doctor said they don't look like herpes or warts.  This was yesterday morning, but as the day went own it look liked the two little bumps seemed to be scabbing.  I took a look today in the afternoon and I kind of picked at the scab and it started to bleed just a little bit.  It looks like a little sore is there so I'm really freaked out now that the doctor didn't really take a good look at these things.  I heard herpes create a sore but I picked at the scab so does this mean I may have herpes??  To make this a bit clearer I will tell you how I started to notice these bumps.

Sunday:  first noticed two small wart or skin tag looking bumps on the scrotum.  I picked at one very softly with no so much pressure and clear white fluid began to ooze out of it.  Cleaned it and put bacitracin.
Monday and Tuesday:  still looked like wart or molluscum or skin tag.
Wednesday:  morning went to doctor to check them out and they look like they began to scab.  Doc said they didn't look like warts or herpes but maybe a pimple.
Today:  I noticed it did look like a scab and picked it at it and It may look like a really small sore barely noticeable.
Throughout these five days I never experienced and pain or burning sensation on these bumps.

Does this sound like herpes outbreak??

you can start with your regular gp if they can see you sooner.

these don't sound like herpes or hpv to be honest. going to be seen and getting a proper exam is the best thing to do. no more picking and prodding so you don't further irritate things.
