open mouth kissing, no visible sores

two nights ago I kissed (open-mouthed, or French-style) a young female. She had no visible sores on her mouth. However, I've recently found out that she has herpes; she didn't say anything to me but I think she's a good, responsable person. We kissed for about three minutes or so. When I was in my early 20's, I had some big cold sores on my lips for a few weeks, but I haven't had any in years. I have a year-old son and I kiss him all the time (cheeks, neck, never the lips). What are the chances that I picked up oral herpes from this female?

if you have a history of cold sores then you already have hsv1 orally. you won't get it again.  http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn_oralherpes.cfm  is a link for more info on oral herpes for you and your partners and also your son.

if someone has genital herpes, you won't get it from kissing them.   there also is no reason for them to say anything to you about their genital herpes if they are just kissing you.
