doesn't the body have antibodies to protect against it
I have had a bump on penis was visual diagnosis and a swab which turned out negative

then 10 or 12 months later I had blood test herp select 1 and 2 igg
h1 was at 5.0
h2 was negative

I have sore muscles all over and sores on butt  that don't go away with Valtrex and stomach rumbling every day all day, sore feet and arms, muscle twitching all over, white tongue and pressure behind eyes

can this all be from hsv1?

I misread your reply -- from the way you phrased it, it sounded like you were saying that it's uncommon to get HSV-1 genitally, not just uncommon to get it genitally IF you have OHSV-1.

Most doctors believe that oral HSV-1 offers near-complete immunity to getting HSV-1 in another location (i.e. genitally). I'm not an immunologist (or a doctor of any kind) so I can't tell you exactly how it would work, but I have read cases of people with a history of cold sores being diagnosed with GHSV-1 later. Take that with a grain of salt -- these cases are rare, and there is no way to verify that what these people actually have are cold sores, or that they didn't contract it orally and genitally at the same time.

What was backwards? If a person has hsv1 orally and someone who has hsv1 oral gives him oral sex then he can get it in the genitals. I use the word uncommon in contrast to say its common as there needs to be a lesion or shedding at the time.  This is not about likely hood but about possibilities.
But i do admire you expertise in this area as well.

You have this completely backward.

If you have HSV-1 orally you are LESS likely to get it genitally. Genital HSV-1 is the fastest growing HSV infection, with 40% of new genital herpes infections resulting from HSV-1.

If you have had cold sores in the past and have not had a swab proving that your infection is genital, then you have to assume your infection is oral.

Hi, if you have hsv1 orally you can contract it in the genital ganglia as well but it is uncommon to get hsv1 in the genital area.
