if you've been properly diagnosed as having a yeast infection then you can. don't just guess though and use them.

That's fine if that's what you like to use.  Any mild soap will do :)

Tell him that the ph of his ejaculate is altering the ph of your vagina and allowing the bacteria in there to overgrowth too often. Remind him that you don't have sex when you have bv so if he used condoms for a few months hopefully you can get this problem licked and there'll be less interruptions to your sex life. ( gotta put it in words he can understand - condoms= more sex for him....lol )

So are you taking the oral flagyl just when you get diagnosed?  Have you tried the vaginal metrogel at all? Definitely talk to your provider about other options to try to break this cycle for once and for all. Lots of literature out there now on things to try in gals having chronic bv issue for your provider to review and get some better ideas from.

I had chronic bv myself for years. Finally the only thing that broke the cycle was condoms all the time for sex for a few months ( so that my partner's semen didn't alter my vaginal ph ) and I started taking a product called femdophilus by jarrow.  Google it. You can even get a free sample from their website.  It was like $15-$20/month to take orally. I'd recommend take it 2x/day for a week  and then daily  for a few months to replace the "good" bacteria so that the "bad" bacteria can't overgrow as easily.  Lots of terrific research on the strains of bacteria in this product on pubmed for more reading.

So you are having problems with bv?  What treatments has your provider been giving you to treat it?

How do you treat your herpes too? are you on daily suppressive therapy?
