Groin pain. Any idea what it could be?

Hey all-

On March 21, a girl I never met before stayed over and while we didn't have sex, we dry humped with our underwear on (very rough and hard). She was very wet there and at one point, she touched my penis with her hands.

Fast forward to March 28th, I go skydiving. The parachute deploying really hurts my groin and I'm sore for a few days afterwards.

The week after (1.5 weeks after the girl), I start to feel a little funny in my groin area. It feels almost as if it's sort of slightly sunburned, slightly itchy, and tingly. Almost like it's raw a bit. I also had a massive headache one day that just wouldn't go away. Anyway, I go on living.

Last weekend (April 10th), it felt really tingly and burnt once when I peed. Besides that, the feeling is more soreness (in the testicles area) and it also feels like my groin has a heating pad on it...always sort of warm. This feeling has been chronic since then, but this is about it. I don't have any pain when I urinate, nor do I feel the need to urinate constantly, etc.

I went to my doctor yesterday and I told him both stories and he said that being with that girl is very low risk for STDs since there was no penetration, however, Herpes and HPV could be passed.

I'm nervous about Herpes, but besides the headache and feelings in my groin, I haven't seen any bumps, rash, or anything to substantiate that. He's testing me for syphillis however to see if something comes up.  I've also had chills in my thighs, a sore throat that started today, and a feeling of cracked/rawness around my anus.

As for the skydiving, I'm really wondering if I jolted my groin into a bad place and that's what's been causing this.

Sorry for the long-winded story, but if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, advice, I'm all ears - thank you!

Just wanted to update.

So I got the Herpes IgG test and they both came back negative.  This rules out me every having this disease.

However, this doesn't rule out the last encounter.

My symptoms now are still some lower back pain here and there, slight sunburn feeling on my thighs, tightness in muscles right above my knees, and sometimes this feeling of electrical shocks throughout thighs (very rare).  Sometimes my inner thigh area/groin is sore (right in the crease between thigh and groin).  The discomfort in scrotum area is barely there now, but sometimes present.

Would these make sense for Herpes symptoms in general?  Thanks.

Another question:

What type of muscle aches are associated with Herpes?  Again, I'm not so much worried about the last contact but maybe I'm asymptomatic until now.

My upper bicep is sore in a spot and my mid butt pain is still there when I sit down.  Just feels like my sciatic nerve rubbing there.

Thank you!

Body aches and such are a symptom that show up in recent infections after a sore appears and since your last affair was no risk, these body aches would not be considered as an indication that you just contracted herpes.

Correct.  I did get the blood test yesterday.

Just waiting on the results now and was wondering about back issues.  I may just be blowing everything I feel out of proportion, but I'm always preparing myself for the worst.

Since your having groin issues and you think its herpes connected then it would best to have a blood test to rule this out other wise youll be contantly worried with any genital area pain.

Life360,

I'm just saying regardless of this situation, what would the pain feel like?

As I said, maybe I was asymptomatic until now?  Or this is just the way I experience Herpes?

I know I'm overthinking - just scared on my end.

Really?  I've read a lot about people have back/butt pain because of the sciatic nerve and Herpes travels along the nerve.  Maybe I'm wrong?

I'm not so much worried about the girl I had an exposure with a month ago and now I'm wondering if I've just been asymptomatic until now.

Thanks.

Hey-

I went to go see the doctor yesterday. They took my blood for the IgG test. Both he and the med student don't think it's Herpes, mainly because they see no bumps, lesions, sores or anything down in my genitals despite my complaints about raw, uncomfortableness. He also felt my lymph nodes around the body and didn't feel anything out of place.

He prescribed me some jock itch cream and that's made the situation feel a bit better. It doesn't feel as raw down there anymore or uncomfortable.

My next bit is a question to everyone: Now, I'm having sort of butt pain. Almost mid to lower butt, feels sore and warm, when I sit down (sometimes) or press into it. It's mid butt cheeks on both sides. Part of me wonders if it's from me stretching my body in weird ways the past few days trying to look for stuff down there, but isn't this also a sign of Herpes?

Just wondering what type of butt/back pain people with Herpes receive - thanks.

I'm sorry to say this but you are being paranoid about herpes and there was no risk. Your symptoms have nothing to do with herpes. You do not even need to test for herpes given the 'exposure'.

Think this way and everything will clear up pronto.

Copy that and would the tingling be localized.  As I said, it feels like it's my whole scrotum up to the penis?

I heard that most tingling/burning sensations are on a 1-inch by 1-inch area where the sore will break out.  My anus feels raw and chafed around it too and I'm just nervous I had an outbreak already there.  Feels like pressure sometimes too.

Thank you so much, Life360!

Tingling is a symptom often described from those experiencing a upcoming outbreak but should not last more than a few days before to a sore appearing.

I appreciate that and I understand that.  I am going to the doctor tomorrow.

Just wondering if that sensation (raw, tingly, slight itch/uncomfortable feeling) all over scrotum and then the warm/tightness (not really itchy) around the anus is Herpes symptoms?

That's all - thanks.

UPDATE:

I reached out to that girl and she told me no doubt she doesn't have herpes.  She said she got checked a month ago and she was clean, guaranteeing me that if I got something it wasn't from her (I've only been with her).  She also went on to explain (her mom is a doctor) that we didn't have our genitals on each other (only through underwear), no bodily fluids were passed between us orally or vaginally (save for kissing).  Finally, that night she said she didn't want to have sex with me for fear of catching something (fair) and that was the reason I agreed not to do anything either.

I really want to believe her, but now my symptoms are more of an itchy, warm scrotum with that raw feeling near my anus.  It's not chronic and sometimes I think I'm imagining it more than I actually feel the need to do something about it.  I posted about this on another board and someone immediately said that's Herpes so I think I'm just going to go in and get the blood test now.

Thoughts?  Thanks.

Has anyone who's ever received Herpes had itching in the groin area (particularly testicles - on both sides) never seen bumps or any signs of anything there?

It doesn't itch terribly.  When I'm walking around, I don't feel the need, just when I've been sitting for 10-15 minutes or so.

Hey-

I'm definitely going to get a Herpes test, but I have to wait for the proper timing (2-3 months).  I just keep reading about stuff with people saying they thought it was jock itch and then it was herpes, but besides the slight uncomfortable feeling here and there, itch or two, it doesn't feel bad.

Recently, I've just been having some lower abdominal pain.  Feels like pressure.  That's it though for now.

Just really terrified that I got it somehow.

Ok lets put it this way. Folks that have first time symptoms are at point of contact so if you groin area did not make any naked contact with her vaginal area its not related. Also the skin in the groin area is too thick for the virus to enter even with out the both of you wearing cloths. Yours appears more of an injury like a pulled muscle but go have a herpes test if you prefer to rule this out for your own peace of mind.
No std is contracted by people wearing cloths, it just doesnot happpen.

I understand that.  I was just wondering if rubbing thighs or what not could do it?

Do my symptoms even really sound like Herpes or is it possible it was skydiving/something else?  I know very little about the disease.  For instance, it's almost been a month since I saw that girl and I have no clue if the first symptoms would still be here or gone by then.  I know blisters and such usually appear from 2-7 days after contact and nothing like that occurred, but different strokes for different folks.

Fabric acts as a block for herpes. This was not a close to happening it was a zero happening. These viruses are very fragile and are not passed through fabrics esp double layers that you and her wore.

Life,

Can I ask why that is?  My doctor says if the girl was very wet and was wearing lacy underwear and I just had boxer briefs, transmission could still occur.  You're the second person I've talked to who has said that transmission is close to not happening, but all the symptoms I've had seem to relate to Herpes and I wonder if she could have leaked through to my genitals or just our crotch areas rubbing would spread something?

Thank you so much for taking the time!

Hi, from your affair you had zero risk for herpes and any other STD so your groin pain would not be related.
