you really don't have to worry about autoinoculation, it doesn't happen much at all.
how were you diagnosed as having hsv2?
grace
Thank you, thats a sigh of relieve, i was diagnosed via blood test and it came back positive, but i have another query. I have a bump at the base of my stomach (not on my genital area) which im wondering if its a lesion, all the other lesions on my genital are gone but this bump is still there, it had no pus and i think i can recall seeing a hair in it, i picked at it and now its irritated, but im wondering if its a herpes lesion or an ingrown hair
I will gladly take a look at your blood test results for you if you get them to post there. that way we know that you were properly tested and see if you need additional confirmatory testing. All you have to do is post the actual numeric results - e.g. hsv1 igg 7.8 and hsv2 igg 4.3 or whatever they are. did you also have a lesion culture of active symptoms too?
how long prior to testing had you last had sex?
i didnt get the paper, i called in and asked for the results, i know i have it because i went through all the symptoms and i saw one or two lesions on my pubic area. I did the test the day after i had sex, oh and also i have HSV1, had it for years now. You know im still freaking out of the fact that i spread the virus to my stomach
You don't have to worry about your stomach, there is no hsv there, this virus is more likely to spread on skin like (mouth, lips, genital area, anus)
I have HSV type 1 and 2.
Since i got HSV i had just 1 outbreak (was the primer infection) it pasted 4 years ago, im clear for 4 years.
PS: i do not smoke or drink alcohol, smoke helps hsv to appear, i'm eating very healthy.
oh i see, it had me paranoid for days now and despite not having any of the symptoms on the specific area which i touched..i still feel that the area is infected, but i realize i have to be more careful, thanks for the help
testing for herpes the day after sex was far too soon.
but the test still came out positive and i felt all the symptoms and did get a breakout, so i guess my body just produce the antibodies fast, i have hsv1 for years now, dont know if that have anything to do with it. I have accepted it but i want to know more about autoinaculation, im not getting much info on the net
ok, i dont know what to think now, i have hsv1 for years now and i have recently contracted hsv2, my thing is that i think i have past hsv2 to my eye, but im wondering if its the hsv1 occurring again but breaking out in my eye, how can i tell the difference of hsv1 and 2 in the eye
The thing about HSV that people don't understand is that you can't spread your own thing to other parts of your body. That is what i was told by the Docs. Any professional here feel free to correct me on this.
Autoinoculation is extremely rare, and when it happens, it happens during a primary outbreak, but even then it's extremely rare. After your primary outbreak you aren't at a real risk of getting HSV-1 or HSV-2 (if you really have both) at another part of your body. So, since you say you have HSV-2 genitally then you won't get it orally, and since you have HSV-1 orally, you won't get it genitally. If you're still in your primary outbreak then just continue to wash your hands after you use the bathroom or touch yourself there.
Your HSV-1 is not breaking out on the eye. HSV-1 outbreaks occur in the nose region to the chin. There's no real reason to think you have HSV-1 in your eye or ocular herpes.
Also, your body wouldn't produce antibodies a day after sex that would be detectable for a positive result. Some people can produce antibodies within a week while almost all will get a definitive result three months post exposure. You really need to get your test results and post them here so Grace can interpret the numbers.
no you didn't make antibodies really fast that you were + a day after sex. either you had hsv2 prior to this and never knew it or you had a false positive.
Even if it was a false positive, i still had all the symptoms, tingling and burning in my groin area, soar throat but i never came down with a fever..and i saw a lesion on my pubic area, i read some where that you can spread the virus to your eye either 1 or 2, my left eye was paining me on and off over the past couple of days and this morning it produced a little mucus, last night when i was sleeping i was laying my head on my right hand, so my eye came in contact with it, now the area (thumb and pointing finger) where my eye was touching is now numb-link so now im thinking i past it on to there now. Its hard to not believe when your having strange sensations
i went to the doctor today and we had a talk, i saw my results
IGM
NEGATIVE 0.90
POSITIVE 1.00
IGG
NEGATIVE 0.90
POSITIVE 1.10
and he said i most likely had it from a month or months ago, this is strange to me cause i had no previous symptoms or out break, could i have been shedding all this time and would this technically be my primary outbreak
you didn't list your actual results - you listed the result ranges.
oh, my bad,
IGM 0.98
IGG 1.36
can you help me understand, if i had the hvs2 before, y did i have an outbreak for the 1st time after coming in contact with it again
are these just hsv2 results or are they combined herpes results?
i only did the testing for hsv2 alone, are those numbers bad?
i want to know something, been looking it up but i cant find any information on it. I want to know if you can shed hsv1 asymptomatically on the nose ?
your hsv2 igg is a low positive. because you tested too early, at this point repeat your igg testing 3 months post encounter and go from there.
usually you only shed hsv1 from the nose when you have active lesions there.
ok, the thing is the my doctor said i probably had contracted it a month or a couple months ago. but i will do a retest as you suggested withing the next couple of months
the reason i ask is that i have hsv1 for years now and i was just curious if i could be shedding asymptomatically through my nose or nasal fluids, only one time i have ever had a break out there and it was mostly inside the right nostril
you can't tell how long you've been infected from the numeric results of the blood testing. your provider is mistaken about that.
retest at the proper time and go from there.
Good day.
I have a question, say your fingers or your hand in general were infected with HSV 1 or 2, could you infect still infect people without any lesions present, through symptomatic or asymptomatic viral shedding??????
And also does everyone with HSV shed asymptomatically at some point in their live?
herpes on the hands only sheds when active lesions are present. otherwise the skin on the hands is too thick for the virus to reach the surface to shed like it does on our more delicate mucosal skin like the mouth, lips and genital area.
