surgery at site of herpes outbreaks

I am a candidate for a total hip replacement.  I have infrequent herpes outbreaks on my buttock at approximately the location where the surgical incision will be made.  What are the risks?  Should another incision site be chosen?  Can oral aciclovir help?

that's not an issue.

I definitely plan to be on a prophilactic suppressive.  My concern is having an outbreak at the planned incision site, which is where I typically have outbreaks (rather than in the genital area).

it's not an issue for you as far as your herpes.

I do recommend starting a round of herpes antivirals if you aren't on daily suppressive therapy though just because the trauma of the surgery itself on your body might trigger a recurrence and who wants to be dealing with a painful genital area when you are recovering from surgery?
