Hi guys. I need your guys' input. Im a 23 year old male who had unprotected oral sex with a girl about 9 months ago (giving and receiving). I started to have some symptoms about a day after and until today have had the following symptoms on and off for 9 months: dry mouth, brain fog, short term memory loss, depression, facial spasm/cramp, burning/tingling sensations all over my buttocks, thighs, legs, calves; damp buttocks, redness around the waist area, red dots on my chest, shoulders, and back that seem to disappear in a matter of days or hours; itchiness on legs, upper back, and nostrils; and infected hair follicles around my body from time to time with the worst incidence being on my inner knees once bilaterally even growth. I described my initial symptoms to an infectious disease MD a month after exposure (when symptoms were worse but not as widespread and prevalent) and he said not herpes right away. I had an igg test for both hsv 1 and 2 done a week after exposure and results were hsv1: 0.06 hsv2: 0.08. 9 months later, my tests are hsv1: 0.26 hsv2: 0.48.
Am I just taking exceptionally long to seroconvert? Should I expect to turn positive in a couple of more months? Why the dramatic increase in titer values? Do my cognitive and psychological symptoms indicate herpetic meningitis? Is there any evidence of infected individuals seroconverting after 12 months? Please do not tell me these symptoms are psychosomatic because they are not. If not herpes, what else could this be?
