test results

I had a tests done 10 years and 3 years ago just was checking for hsv2 they both came back negative, i had a pap in 2nd week in march 2013, 2 weeks later i was burning when i urinated,I am a female. So i went back to my GYN ,she wasn't sure what the little cut like was on left vulva, she said it looked like herpes. So she did a culture results came back negative. Blood test igG came back hsv 2>5.00 H, RPR NON-REACTIVE.Hsv1 o.15. Do i need to get retested since the culture came back negative. With results of >5.00hsv2 how long do you think it been since i was infected? i have never had any symptoms before, i am over 50 yrs. old.

it would've been picked up on in herpes igg blood testing when you had it done.

the risk of a false positive for a hsv2 igg that is over 5 is very low so we don't in general recommend confirmatory testing unless you just need the peace of mind of seeing a herpes Wb blood test done.

over 90% of folks who have hsv2, have no idea they have it until tested.  Your partner will need to seek out testing to know his status too.

have you read the free handbook we recommend in our read before posting post on the forum?

if you were tested for herpes with igg blood testing 3 years ago and it came back negative then, you know it's most likely that you contracted hsv2 during the last 3 years. do you have a regular partner? if so, have they been tested for herpes to know their status yet?
