another IgG vs IgM question.

Back in november I noticed what I initially thought was a herpes outbreak on the shaft of my penis. It occured after some rough friction, so I was only half worried... I thought it was probably a friction burn, but alas... I worried about having caught something so I found myself at my doctor's office being tested for HSV. There was nothing to swab, and the area has seemed to heal nicely, though recurring friction tends to redden the area.

I hadn't even heard about the igM test until I was at my doctor a few days ago... but in the mean time I have read up on it and realize that false positives are common, and realize I shouldn't be worrying at this point. However, the doc told me my IgM was positive, and so now I think I need a little reassurance.

The type I IgG was 0.02.
The type II IgG was 0.09
And the IgM was at 1.52.

Should I be worried at all? Get retested in a few months to be sure?

the igm is a bad herpes test that should've never been drawn on you in the first place. Totally disregard the results because a + herpes igm is meaningless.

Thank you.

So pertaining to the particular value for my IgM, do you feel like this is a high or a low result ?

You aren't likely to have genital herpes with testing negative 2 months post encounter.  If you have a regular partner they should get tested to see what their own status is.
