I know I have hsv 1, Could i have hsv 2?

About a year ago i had sex for the first time with my then boyfriend, i noticed a few weeks later i felt like i had a papercut inside my vagina when we had sex, it last only about 3 days. Other symptoms i had were urgency to pee and pressure on abdomen. We never used condoms and dated for 6 months

I am scared as HELL that i may have contradicted hsv 2 from my boyfriend a year ago.

I have been a frequent coldsore sufferer since i was younger and have gotten cold sore outbreaks on my mouth this past year (as i do every year) since i believe i might have had my first hsv2 outbreak. I know the things i listed above about the papercut feeling in vagina may be a sign of herpes etc.

So my question is, since i get bad coldsore outbreaks on my mouth about 4 times a year, wouldnt i be more likely to show severe sore outbreaks such as actual sores on my genitals if i had hsv2? Or would it be the opposite?

SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER I CANT SLEEP ANYMORE AND IM DRIVING MYSELF INSANE OVER THIS!!!!

your immune system actually doesn't have a lot to do with how often you'll have cold sores. it's actually a part of a gene that determines if you are likely to have frequent cold sores or not. one more thing to blame mom and dad for.

sources? well lots of herpes research studies that have confirmed that hsv1 makes you less likely to have "classic" hsv2 symptoms. it's a well known herpes fact and honestly I'm not about to go do a lit search for you to give you specific resources to read.

you should be having herpes testing after every partner. better yet, they should be having it prior to sex with you so you know their status so you can make educated decisions together as to what precautions to take for sex..  Easier to seek out blood testing for hsv2 and know your status then to find out you had it after you've transmitted it to a partner.   obviously the possibility of herpes being the cause of your symptoms is on your mind that you've posted here so seek out the testing to know your status so you can move forward.

Grace are you sure about that? Sources? I have a weak immune system and i know that only a third of people actually develop hsv 1 blisters frequently. And i am one of them. Are you SURE it wouldnt be the same thing for hsv 2? Ironically enough i do remember having a coldsore during the time that i think i MAY have contradicted hsv 2.

I think the papercut in my vagina feeling was from rough sex, i looked up vaginal fissures and feel a little more at peace.

Yes i got checked for everything (expect herpes bloodtest) since him and have not had a sex since.

having hsv1 orally first takes the "edge" off of a hsv2 infection in the genitals later on. it's why the vast majority of people who have hsv2, have no idea they have it until they are tested. bottom line at this point is you need to seek out a type specific herpes igg blood test ( or just a hsv2 igg ) and see what your status is and go from there. did you cover the rest of your std testing bases at the proper times after ending that relationship?
