what are the odds

I have been recently diagnosed with genital herpes and the partner i had never showed any signs of have anything we were together for about 6 month and after i found out about the herpes he stop talking to me completely. i know for a fact that i got it from him but he says no. if we were having  unprotected sex for about 6months what are the odds of contracting herpes with no symptoms or signs in that period of time and if i didn't get it from him what are the chances that he got it from me?

no way to know at this point what was going on with him. if you are are no longer together then it's up to him to follow up on his side of things. what's important is you taking care of you at this point.

You need to pursue testing to find out if you have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally. Knowing which type you have is very important as far as you and future partners deciding what precautions to take as well as for you to decide if daily suppressive therapy is a good option for you or not. I'd start with calling the clinic you were tested at to see if they typed your culture to know if it's hsv1 or hsv2. if they didn't then you can pursue a type specific herpes igg blood test. it's not automatically hsv2 just because it's genital.

Was your culture hsv1+ or hsv2+?

I have no idea what the last few sentences of your question are about. could you perhaps rephrase them and see if that helps? who is her that you are concerned about?

Over 90% of folks who have hsv2, have no idea that they have it until they are tested. If you were never tested before, no way to know if this is a newly acquired infection for you or not. About 1/2 of all presumed newly acquired infections are just the first obvious recurrence.  what testing did you have done?
