I have tested negative for HSV2 three times. The last one being six months after seconds of unprotected sex with female friend who later found out she was HSV2 positive. Scared out of mind. Urologist gave me a month of cipro and monday will be last day. Since taking the cipro, i have had loose stools, burning sensation on my back, butt cheek itch sometimes as well as my anus, and i get a very dull ache feeling on butt cheek. Im really trying to take my negative results and mive on, but stuff keep coming up. Im so ready to get back to my nirmal life. Any advice please.

Antibiotics always do weird things to me.  I would bet it is just the Cipro and when you get done with them, you'll be back to normal.

As far as any weird things before that, you probably have herpes anxiety like the rest of us.  I have sworn for 2 months now that leisions are going to pop up any moment.

Gradually getting better and trying to trust the "odds".

Thanks so much. I have been killing myself for the bad decision I made. I have been feeling this wierd tingle sensation in my penis since the sexual encounter. Its been off and on for since July of 2012. Grace stated that it didnt sound like herpes at all, but im about to lose my mind. Im trying so hard to trust my results and facts that experts has given me. Im lost right now and I dont know what to do. How likely is it to have three false negatives?

diarrhea is a common side effect to all antibiotics. no reason to think these are std symptoms.

it's not a herpes symptom to have tingling all the time. you would have clear periods of no symptoms - weeks at a time.

Grace, i guess the good thing is that since the encounter, i have have been feeling the tingle on and off since then, but still tested negative 6 months later. Im just ready to get back to normal life. :(

Morning Grace, I have a question for you or anybody who wants to give some insight. People who have HSV2 sometimes say that their butt will itch sometime. Is this a primary symptom or a reocuurnce OB? My only concern is this on and off quick pinch feeling that i get in the head of my penis. Other than that, I have no lesions, bumps or anything else. It never burn when I urine and again I tested negative at 6.5 months with IGG blood test. This pinch feeling has been of and on since July 2012. Does herpes behave in this manner?

Hello Grace, I have a couple of questions. 1(Do you think I would have a false negative 6 months post exposure? 2(Would lesions or bumps show up on my butt cheek rather than penis? 3(Have you heard anything about what ciproflaxin could cause?

Im asking because I started to notice things while taking ciproflaxin. My face felt flush, my anus started to itch, as well as my buttucks. Today is my third day off of ciproflaxin and I noticed what appeared to look like a circular shape forming on my right butt cheek. The skin is still smooth with no raised bumps or blisters. Maybey my mind is playing tricks, I dont know. Im scared and woundering if my test results are truly negative.

Grace i truly hear you when you say stop thinking herpes. Its just crazy how things start to appear. After three negative test, you still wouldnt suspect herpes?  when people have lesions, is the only way to culture it is from the fluid that comes out right? I have seen this circular shape for two days. Dealing with herpes, would lesions have fluid by the secind day? Even with the girl whom i slept with who tested pisitive, and my last igg returned negative results at six months post, you would still say not herpes? I can feel when my underwear is on that spot, does that mean anything?

Morning Grace. I understand that reoccuring herpes and lesions dont hurt as bad as the primary OB, but would reoccuring OB look the same? Fluid filled blisters and clusters?

Today i saw a dermatologist as a last reult about my herpes concerns. I recently noticed what appeared to be a faint circular shape on my butt cheeck. It doesnt hurt but i can tell that its there. My buttocks has this strange warm sensation and dull feeling. Im scared because i read that this is a symptom of prodrom for herpes. Im not trying to be repetitive, but just very concerned. I started to feel this way while taking ciprofloaxcin. The wierd butt feeling came when i was almost done with medicine. I want to move on, but i really want to know whats causing me to feel this way. It feels like something is going to pop up on my butt any momment. It has me freaked out. Grace not trying to get on your nerves but just want to get some understanding thats all. Thanks for listening.

She reitterated that it just look like a dark spot. I told her that my last test was six months post exposure and she said for sure you are negative by then.   my butt has this slight warm feeling for the past week. I guess you can say that i have a tingling feeling sometimes. Like i said, the feelings i have right now started while taking ciprofloaxcin. I have been off meds for a week and im still feeling funny in the buttocks area. I hope this go away soon.

you really need to stop thinking that you have herpes causing all of this! follow up as needed with the dermatologist for further symptoms.

Hello Grace, I wanted to say thanks for all your help. I was letting this issue get the best of me. I'm slowly moving forward. I was thinking herpes because the female say she tested positive for it so I just knew I contracted it. As you said, the test I did at six months was more than enough time to have HSV antibodies. I'm going to accept my three negative results and thank GOD.

Hello Grace, i have a question. You and i have discussed my herpes issues and i have been trying to move forward. My urologist gave me a month of cipro. My last week taking the medicine my butt started to tingle and have a slight burn feeling. I have had this feeling almost a month now. Could this be a reaction to the cipro antibiotics? Its really scaring me.  i tested negative at six months. I understand that you say thats more than enough time and that my negative results are accurate. Im scared to death right now. Its like i can feel when my underwear rub against the area on my butt. Im getting scared because i have had a sort of stiff neck for the past week.

really no reason to think that these are signs of a herpes recurrence.  

would not be unusual at all to have a fungal infection from the antibiotics either.

Hello,  I went to the doctor in early september of this year with the same issues I have posted in previous post concerning my HSV2 scare. I told him that I have also taken metrodonzole because i thought it could have been trichomonasis. He told me that he has already tested me for that by urine. Is it normal to test for that during a urine analysis? Bacteria culture and a Urine PH test was done as well. Its been over a year and I have tested for everything. HSV2 three times just to make sure. I keep getting this wiered tingling feeling on my butt thats scaring me to death. My wife keeps having recurring yeast infections worrying me as well. Im starting to think its me causing the yeas tinfections. .
